What is CSS?
CSS stands for Cascading Style Sheets. These style sheets are instructions that tell the browser how to present the content on a given web page. Style sheets can include typographical information on how the page should appear (such as fonts, font size, colors, and spacing). This makes typographical style consistent throughout your site and easy to change - by changing one document (the CSS page), it will change all content that has that CSS page applied to it.

What is a domain name? How do I get one?
A domain name is a unique name that identifies an Internet site (ex. www.yourdomain.com). You can register your domain name through various websites on the Internet - a cost is involved with this and you will need to renew your domain name every 1-2 years depending on the company. A domain name should be registered before the design process.

What is web hosting?
Do I need a hosting company?
Yes, you will need to find a hosting company. We recommend that you host your site with the same company your domain is purchased at. This will eliminate any downtime and possible delay in getting your site published. Website hosting provides space on a companies server that holds all your website files and displays them on the Internet, a monthly fee is determined, depending on how much server space you require.
What are web safe colors?
Web safe colors used to be more of a concern than they are now. The majority of users computers used to only have 256 color (8 bit) monitors, but this no longer holds true, they are now the minority. Now, the majority of Internet users have monitors that display thousands or millions of colors. Basically the choice to use web safe colors is determined by your target market, whether or not the majority use very old or current systems.
What are frames?
Frames are a technique used in web pages to divide the page into multiple windows, where each window is called a frame and can contain its own separate page. With frames, often you have one frame acting as a 'control frame' while the others are the 'target frames'.
Should my website use frames?
There are many reasons not to use frames, and they tend to outweigh the reasons to use them. Frame sites are not fully supported by all browsers. Frames tend to interfere with search engine optimization (getting ranked high in search engines).
Often, the functionality of frames can be achieved with standard HTML, CSS and the use of the <DIV> tag. It is our recommendation that you avoid using frames for the design of your site unless absolutely necessary.
Will my site display properly in all browsers?
Yes. If you chose Websites Ink as your designer, your site is tested for browser compatibility in all browsers.
Our websites will also be coded with responsive design meaning they will respond to the screen size of your device and therefore display correctly in all mobile web browsers.
